MATHEMATICS

CASA: The mathematic materials assist the child in understanding the progression from concrete to abstract concepts through analysis, conception and exercise. Using these materials, the children learn quantities, identify numerals, the sequencing of numbers, and gain an understanding of concrete addition and subtraction.

TODDLER: The introduction of concrete numbers begins by learning to count from 1 to 10 and 11 to 20. Materials will be used to assist in counting and upon readiness, identifying numerals with abstract assistance. Informal mathematic lessons will be introduced into every day activities such as counting objects during outdoor play, story time and regular class time. Children will begin to develop an understanding for the identifying numbers in our environment.
